Chaos at Sea: Passengers Report Ongoing Issues on Taşucu–Kyrenia Ferry Route

Passengers are reporting persistent issues with the new sea bus route recently launched by Istanbul Sea Buses (IDO), which operates between the Turkish port of Taşucu and Kyrenia (Girne) in Northern Cyprus.

According to eyewitness accounts, chaos erupted on Sunday when three passengers who had already passed passport control were unable to board the ferry. The vessel was scheduled to depart at 10:30 a.m., but the departure never happened.

“People were losing it—screaming and lashing out at staff,” said one frustrated passenger.

“They had three ships set to depart at the same time! The lines were insane! We were standing under the sun since 8 a.m.!” another traveler wrote.

As of now, Istanbul Sea Buses has not issued any official statement regarding the reported incidents.
