KTGB announces applications for 2026 journalism awards
The Cyprus Turkish Journalists Association has started accepting applications for the annual contest "Media Achievement and Incentive Awards," the ceremony for which will traditionally be held on July 11 — Press Day.
Journalistic materials published between June 1, 2025, and June 1, 2026, are eligible for participation. Works can be submitted by the authors themselves or upon the recommendation of association members.
"Media Achievement Awards" will be presented to journalists working in all types of media. In turn, "Incentive Awards" are intended for young journalists with a yellow press card and no more than five years of work experience, as well as for students and recent graduates of communication faculties.
In addition to the main categories, special awards are provided this year: the "Peace Journalism Award," the "Hakan Çakmak Culture and Arts in Media Award," and an award for academic research contributing to the development of journalism.
The KTGB emphasized that the competition aims to support quality journalism and encourage young media professionals.
