On the ring road of Nicosia, a garbage truck overturned: the driver is in the hospital

On the North Ring Road of Nicosia, a garbage truck overturned this morning. As a result of the accident, the truck driver was injured. Traffic was disrupted due to the overturned garbage truck and scattered waste on the road.

It is known that the overturned truck belongs to the Bel-Paz municipality of Kyrenia. At the time of the accident, the truck was transporting garbage to the Gungor solid waste storage facility. Apparently, the driver lost control at the turn, causing the waste-loaded vehicle to overturn. According to local media, the accident could have ended much more tragically – the recently installed barrier in this location saved the driver's life. Without the barrier, the truck would have gone into a deep ditch.

Emergency medical services (112) and the police arrived at the scene. The injured driver was taken to the hospital for a medical examination.
