Authorities of Paphos Explain Reasons for High Water Bills
Residents of Paphos have collectively complained about high water bills received this month. The complaints of consumers are being reviewed by the municipal authorities.
According to a statement from the municipal authorities, high bills were issued to the owners of approximately 450 properties. The municipality cited several reasons why this may have occurred.
These reasons include human errors in recording consumption, the replacement of old meters with modern smart devices, underground leaks discovered in private properties that were not registered by old meters, or the inability of damaged meters to register amounts.
The municipality asserts that each complaint is being considered individually, and the findings will be presented to the municipal council for legal review.
Additionally, the municipality will not disconnect water supply to affected properties until a final decision is made and the investigation is completed.
