Festival of traditional glyko glytsisto in Koilani

Glytsisto consists of thin strips of dough braided into a cord, fried, soaked in syrup, and sprinkled with ground almonds, cinnamon, and sugar. This traditional sweet from the village of Koilani is included in the list of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Cyprus under the name “lace of confectionery art.”

At the festival, the women of the village will demonstrate the process of making glytsisto. Guests can enjoy traditional music and dancing, a photo exhibition, a children's playground, local delicacies, and crafts. The village's small museums and wineries will also be open on this day.
