In Northern Cyprus, remembrance events dedicated to those who lost their lives during the period of the National Struggle are scheduled from December 21 to 25. The main ceremonies will take place on December 21 — on this day, official commemorations, wreath-laying ceremonies and moments of silence will be held across the country.
The events are held annually with the aim of preserving historical memory and honoring those who died during events that played a key role in the country’s history. Representatives of the authorities, public organizations, veterans, students and residents of various regions will take part.
The commemorative program will continue until December 25 and will include ceremonies, thematic meetings and educational events.
