Police strengthen security measures for the holiday and urge caution on the roads
The General Directorate of Police announced the introduction of enhanced security and traffic control measures in connection with the holiday. According to the department, all necessary measures have already been implemented to ensure that the holiday period passes peacefully and safely.
The police said that emergency services will operate around the clock. Citizens can contact 155 (police), 156 (anti-narcotics department) and 199 (fire service), and all requests and complaints will be processed without delay.
Particular attention has been paid to the safety of homes and property of citizens who leave their residences during the holidays. The police recommend checking security systems, video surveillance (if available), and making sure doors and windows are securely closed. Citizens are also advised to check electrical appliances and sockets to help prevent possible fires.
A separate part of the statement is devoted to road safety. In view of the expected increase in traffic, the police urge drivers to strictly follow the rules.
«Do not get behind the wheel under the influence of alcohol, use public transport if necessary, do not exceed the speed limit and avoid using mobile phones while driving», — the appeal says.
It also emphasizes the importance of seat belts for all passengers and mutual compliance with the rules by both drivers and pedestrians.
