After heavy rains, the Gönyeli Dam impressed with its natural beauty but suffered from pollution
Mayor Amcaoğlu stated that after the heavy rainfall the Gönyeli Dam appeared especially picturesque, with a newly formed waterfall once again highlighting the beauty of the local nature. However, he said that this beauty was overshadowed by serious pollution of the surrounding area caused by the actions of some visitors.
He noted that the dam area, where people come to relax in nature and breathe fresh air, is constantly being polluted due to irresponsible behavior.
He emphasized that municipal services, as always, promptly began work, and large-scale clean-up operations were carried out in the dam area. Polluted sites were cleaned and restored by the municipality.
In his statement, Amcaoğlu stressed that the municipality will continue to fulfill its duties, but the main responsibility lies with everyone who visits this place. He reminded that the Gönyeli Dam is an area for walks and recreation, not a place to be polluted.
In conclusion, Amcaoğlu called on all residents to show greater responsibility and jointly protect nature.
