The project for the new state hospital in Girne has reached its final stage. This was announced by the Minister of Health of the TRNC, Hakan Dinçyürek, during an inspection of the medical complex.
According to the minister, construction work has been fully completed, and medical equipment and furniture have already begun arriving at the hospital. The first batch of heavy equipment has arrived on the island, and installation will begin immediately after the holiday break.
Dinçyürek said deliveries of equipment will continue throughout June. After all installation and technical work is completed, the hospital is planned to open for residents as soon as possible.
The minister emphasized that Turkey provided significant support for the project by funding the purchase of medical equipment. He expressed his gratitude to Ankara for its contribution to the development of the healthcare system in Northern Cyprus.
According to the head of the Health Ministry, the original project, initiated by Prime Minister Ünal Üstel, was significantly expanded and turned into a major investment in healthcare. The new hospital is expected to provide a higher level of medical services and serve a larger number of patients.
Dinçyürek also thanked all the specialists involved in the implementation of the project, noting that the opening of the hospital will be an important step for the country's healthcare system and for the residents of the Girne region.
