Civil Engineers of Northern Cyprus to Hold Commemorative Event on Earthquake Anniversary, February 6
The Chamber of Civil Engineers KTMMOB (İMO) will organize a commemorative event in honor of recently deceased chamber members Abit Sedat Tuncjan and Kenan Atakol, as well as in memory of the "Şampion Melekler" — children and their companions who died during the devastating earthquakes on February 6, 2023.
The event will be held under the motto "We Remember and Will Not Let Forget." During the ceremony, both the earthquake victims and representatives of the professional community will be respectfully and solemnly commemorated. Additionally, the names of the two late İMO members will be placed in the Memorial Park of the Chamber of Civil Engineers.
The organizers emphasize that the purpose of the event is to preserve the collective memory of the tragedy and remind society of its responsibility toward the victims of such disasters. Representatives of the media have been invited to the event.
