The Department of Public Works has announced a series of roadworks on highways in the provinces of Nicosia, Larnaca and Limassol over the coming days, with partial lane closures.

On Sunday from 06:00 to 09:00, removal of EAC overhead lines will take place above the Nicosia–Limassol (A1) motorway near the Kofinou exit. The works will be carried out in both directions. During the works, the police will intermittently stop traffic on the A1 for short periods, up to five minutes each time, in both directions.

On Monday from 09:00 to 14:30, repair works will take place on the existing energy-absorbing crash system on the Larnaca–Paralimni motorway in the direction from Paralimni to Larnaca, near the Kalo Chorio roundabout exit. During this period, the left lane will be closed on a section of approximately 500 m, and traffic will be directed to the adjacent lane.

On Saturday from 06:00 to 14:00, cleaning of sections of the Limassol bypass road (in both directions) is scheduled. During the works, a lane of about 200 m in one direction will be closed alternately, and traffic will be redirected to the neighbouring lane using a mobile construction frame.

On Tuesday and Wednesday from 20:00 to 05:30 the following day, local maintenance works will take place in the central median of the Limassol–Nicosia motorway opposite Parekklisia in the direction of Limassol. From time to time, a lane of about 300 m will be closed, and traffic will be redirected to the neighbouring lane.

The Department apologises for the inevitable inconvenience and asks the public to follow the temporary road markings and police instructions, the CNA report notes.
