Fuel sales in Cyprus fell by 5% in April

In April 2026, the total volume of petroleum product sales in Cyprus amounted to 118,375 tonnes, which was 5% lower than in the same month last year. This was reported by the country’s Statistical Service.

According to the published data, fuel sales at filling stations also declined — by 2.9%, to 53,151 tonnes. The decrease affected most categories of petroleum products.

The most notable drop was recorded in sales of heavy fuel oil — by 58.8%, as well as light fuel oil — by 40.3%. Sales of heating oil (-8%), liquefied gas (-4.2%), diesel fuel (-3.3%) and petrol (-0.4%) also declined.

In addition, supplies of aviation fuel (-2.3%) and marine fuel (-1.7%) decreased. At the same time, kerosene sales rose by 34.4%, and bitumen sales by 4.3%.

Compared with March 2026, the total volume of petroleum product sales fell by 7%. In particular, supplies of marine fuel (-6.8%) as well as diesel sales (-10.1%) and petrol sales (-4.2%) declined. At the same time, aviation fuel supplies posted a sharp increase — by 52.3%.

The Statistical Service also said that petroleum product stocks at the end of April increased by 22.3% compared with the previous month.

Despite the April decline, overall from January to April 2026, petroleum product sales in Cyprus rose by 5.9% compared with the same period last year.
