Teenagers detained in Nicosia in stolen car: knives and drugs found in vehicle
Police detained a 16-year-old driver and his 19-year-old passenger following a chase involving a stolen car in the Nicosia district.
The incident occurred around 01:10 AM on Limassol Avenue in Dali, where a patrol spotted a car running a red light. A check revealed that the vehicle had been reported stolen several hours earlier.
The driver attempted to escape, breaking traffic rules and running another red light. The chase ended in Latsia, where the teenager lost control and crashed into a fence. No one was injured.
During a search of the car, police found two knives, a small amount of drugs, and an electric grill which, according to preliminary reports, was stolen in the Strovolos area.
Both suspects are in custody, and investigations are being carried out by police in Latsia and Strovolos, the anti-drug unit, and Nicosia traffic police.
