Short-term power outage occurred in several areas of Cyprus
On Friday evening, many areas of Cyprus experienced a power outage for approximately 15 minutes due to a technical fault at the Vasilikos power station.
According to the transmission system operator, the failure occurred at 18:57 after one of the 116 MW generators stopped, leading to temporary interruptions in the power supply.
The EAC (AHK) reported that fast-response reserve capacities were immediately activated. By 19:13, the power supply was fully restored.
