Cyprus continues to strengthen its position on the global map of innovation and entrepreneurship. According to the StartupBlink Global Startup Ecosystem Index 2026, the country has climbed six positions to rank 34th in the world among startup ecosystems.

This marks the third consecutive year that Cyprus has demonstrated one of the highest growth rates in the world. According to the study, the annual growth of the country's entrepreneurial ecosystem stands at 62.7%. The total value of Cypriot startups is estimated at approximately 4.2 billion dollars.

The report pays special attention to the country's cities. For the first time, all four Cypriot cities entered the list of the world's top 1,000 cities for startups. Limassol became the first city in Cyprus to break into the top 200 of the global ranking, securing 191st place.

The strongest sector of the Cypriot startup ecosystem was recognized as Social & Leisure, which includes gaming projects, social platforms, digital entertainment, tourism, cultural services, and the wellness industry. In this category, Cyprus ranks 26th globally, and 16th in the Gaming subcategory.

The authors of the study note that if current development paces and a favorable business environment are maintained, Cyprus could become one of the notable players in the European innovation ecosystem.

Experts attribute the country's growth to the development of the technology sector, the attraction of international companies, tax advantages, and growing investor interest in the Cypriot market.
