33-year-old man arrested with drugs in Limassol
In Limassol, police arrested a 33-year-old man suspected of possession of drugs with intent to supply, as well as assaulting police officers and resisting arrest.
According to police, the incident occurred around 19:30. During a patrol, officers signaled a cyclist to stop for a check, but he attempted to flee. During the chase, the man fell off his bicycle and continued to flee on foot but was soon stopped by the police.
During the arrest, he attacked and pushed the police officers, but the law enforcement agents managed to subdue and arrest him.
During the search, the man was found with:
- 26 packages of cannabis weighing approximately 20 grams,
- 19 packages of methamphetamine weighing approximately 9 grams,
- €442 in cash.
Following the discovery of the drugs, the man was re-arrested on charges of illegal drug possession with intent to distribute.
The investigation is being continued by the Drug Law Enforcement Unit (YKAN) and the Ayios Ioannis police station.
