Man attacks police officers twice in one day in Limassol

In Limassol, police arrested a 23-year-old man twice in a single day following two separate incidents in which, according to law enforcement, he attacked police officers.
The first incident occurred on the evening of April 14, around 20:00. Officers arrived at a store after an alarm was triggered and found an unknown man inside with a bottle of alcohol. When they attempted to identify him, he reportedly attacked a female police officer.
Additional forces arrived, and the suspect was detained; however, according to police, he resisted arrest, attacked another officer, and threatened them with a broken bottle. After being detained, the man also inflicted injuries on himself.
He and the two injured officers were taken to Limassol Hospital. The officers received first aid and were released, while the detainee refused a medical examination.
The following morning, he appeared in court and was released on bail pending a hearing scheduled for May 15.
However, around 17:00 that same day, police received another call — this time regarding a disturbance at a property in Limassol. Arriving officers found the same man throwing furniture, shouting, and acting aggressively.
When they tried to identify him, according to police, he attacked the officers again, hitting and kicking them, and hurling insults. After resisting, he was detained once more.
As a result of the second incident, three more police officers sought medical assistance and were subsequently released.
The investigation is being conducted by the Limassol Minor Offenses Department.
