In Limassol, nearly three kilograms of cannabis were seized and two suspects were detained
Limassol police detained two men aged 25 and 26 during a special operation by the Drug Enforcement Unit. Law enforcement officers seized around 2 kilograms and 805 grams of cannabis.
The operation was carried out after information was received that the suspects were hiding drugs in various locations around the city. According to the investigation, officers from the anti-narcotics unit placed the 25-year-old man under surveillance and recorded him leaving packages twice in open areas in different districts of Limassol.
During the inspection of the packages, police found about 2 kilograms and 130 grams of cannabis. Later, the suspect's car was stopped and searched, during which law enforcement officers found another approximately 29 grams of the narcotic substance. The man was detained at the scene.
The investigation continued in relation to the second suspect in the case. Near the 26-year-old man's house, two packages containing about 168 grams of cannabis were found in an open area.
After that, police searched his home. In the yard and storage room, officers discovered another nine packages containing about 478 grams of cannabis. The second suspect was also arrested.
The investigation into the case is ongoing.
