Over 100 Individuals Treated for Addiction at Paphos Rehabilitation Center in 2024
In 2024, the Paphos Rehabilitation Center provided care and support to 114 people struggling with drug addiction.
The chairman of the "Tolmi" Rehabilitation Center emphasized that drug and alcohol abuse in Paphos remains a significant and multifaceted problem.
Currently, 52 individuals are receiving treatment at the center.
"The prevalence of this lifestyle underscores the urgent need for targeted prevention and treatment programs tailored to specific age groups, as well as education and awareness campaigns," the chairman stated in a report published by Cyprus Mail.
The chairman also highlighted findings from the National Anti-Drug Council’s 2023 report and wastewater analyses from 2021, which indicate that drug usage in Paphos has reached concerning levels.
Cannabis continues to be the most commonly used substance in Cyprus. However, analyses of wastewater have also detected methamphetamine, cocaine, amphetamines, and other stimulants.
