Three Underage Syrians Arrested After Mass Brawl in Larnaca
Another large-scale fight involving underage foreigners occurred in Cyprus, this time between teenagers in Larnaca.
According to the Cyprus News Agency, the incident took place on Wednesday evening around 18:40. The police were alerted to a fight between young people of Arab origin on Athens Avenue.
Police arrived at the scene and arrested three Syrians involved in the brawl.
The oldest of the detainees is 18 years old and had visible injuries on his face. The two younger detainees only suffered minor scratches.
The younger participants told the police that the fight with the 18-year-old was over a girl. In contrast, the older teen claimed that he had seen the younger ones stealing at the beach and recorded them, after which they attacked him.
It was also reported that the younger detainees were found in possession of brass knuckles, while the older teen defended himself with a stick.
All three are expected to appear before the Larnaca District Court today for a detention order.
