Cyprus Electricity Authority Employees Announce Three-Hour Strike
Workers of the Electricity Authority of Cyprus (EAC) will hold a three-hour warning work stoppage on Wednesday, March 18, from 08:00 to 11:00.
The decision was announced by the company's unions in a letter sent to the board of directors. The action is related to serious problems in the electricity sector, which, according to the unions, continue to worsen.
The appeal notes that the situation in the energy sector is deteriorating due to a lack of strategic planning by the state and delays by the responsible authorities. This, as the unions emphasize, is already having a negative impact on consumers and the country's economy.
Employee representatives also stated that if their demands are not heard by the authorities, an escalation of protest measures is possible.
