Larnaca Firefighters Rescue Two Dogs from 20-Meter Pit

Over the weekend, firefighters in Larnaca successfully rescued two dogs that had fallen into a 20-meter pit.

Emergency services reported that the incident occurred on Sunday in the village of Anafotia. According to Andreas Kettis, a spokesperson for the fire department, a specialized response unit quickly rushed to the scene after receiving the distress call about the dogs trapped in the deep ravine.

"Thanks to the use of specialized rescue equipment and the firefighters’ descent into the pit, both dogs were safely extracted and returned to their owner," Kettis shared.

Following the rescue, the fire department alerted the local community council, recommending that the pit be sealed off to ensure safety in the area.
