Limassol Police Investigate Real Estate Fraud Case

The Limassol police are investigating a fraud case involving the sale of a property. Two individuals sold a plot of land for cryptocurrency without the knowledge of its elderly owner.

According to police reports, the 78-year-old landowner contacted authorities after discovering on February 11 that his land in the Limassol area had been sold to a company for €600,000 in cryptocurrency.

The investigation revealed that forged documents had been submitted to the land registry, and the signature on the documents was also falsified. Police quickly tracked down the suspects. On Sunday, two men, aged 45 and 46, were arrested.

The suspects are facing charges of real estate fraud, extortion under false pretenses, impersonation, document forgery, money laundering, and conspiracy to commit a serious crime.
