Suspect in Larnaca Murder Surrenders to British Base Police
Police have arrested a suspect in a brutal murder that occurred two nights ago at an auto repair shop near Ormidia in the Larnaca province. The killer shot his colleague over financial disputes.
According to the police press service, the 45-year-old man voluntarily surrendered to the British base police yesterday afternoon. Today, he appeared before the base court in Dhekelia, which decided to remand him in custody for 8 days.
During the court session, the suspect confessed to the murder of 52-year-old Charalambos Konstantinidis from Paralimni due to financial disagreements, possibly related to a debt of 1500 euros.
Currently, the British Base Police in Cyprus continues the investigation, gathering evidence and witness testimonies. It is noted that the suspect will appear in court again on July 5th.
It should be noted that the murder occurred late Tuesday night, around 23:00, at a workshop near Ormidia in the Larnaca province. Upon arrival, police found a deceased man with gunshot wounds to the head.
