Night fire in Paphos: residential house roof caught fire
The fire occurred around 3:00 a.m. on Thursday in a two-story residential building in the Konia community of Paphos district.
According to Cyprus Fire Service representative Andreas Kettis, the fire started in the wooden roof of the house. A fire team with one fire truck promptly arrived at the scene.
The fire damaged the attic. Water hoses and breathing apparatuses were used to extinguish the flames. Residents were able to leave the building in time and were unharmed.
Preliminary reports indicate that the cause of the fire was the chimney flue of a fireplace. The circumstances of the incident are being clarified.
