The limb found on Paphos beach has been identified as the right leg of an adult
Forensic experts have released the initial findings of their examination of the severed human limb discovered on a beach in Paphos. According to the anthropologist, it is the right foot of an adult.
The anthropologist and forensic expert conducted the examination of the severed limb yesterday evening.
The examination revealed that it is the right leg belonging to an adult and is in a state of decomposition. Tissue samples were taken for further genetic testing.
Recall that the gruesome discovery was made on the beach near Lara in Paphos last Sunday. A beachgoer discovered a right boot with a human foot inside, severed at the ankle.
Immediately after finding the booted limb, the man handed the discovery to the Peyia police station and also provided police officers with the exact location where the foot was found.
The Cyprus Police conducted an investigation into the discovery of the limb. Searches on land and at sea proved unsuccessful: no evidence was found.
