Two fires occurred in the kitchens of private houses in Cyprus within a few hours of each other. According to preliminary data, in both cases, the cause of the fire was a candle left on the kitchen table.

The first incident occurred around 03:20 in Kato Polemidia in a two-story house. The fire damaged kitchen appliances and equipment, while smoke and high temperatures affected the building's interior and electrical wiring. Residents were inside the house but managed to get out before the firefighters arrived and were not injured.

The second fire occurred around 05:26 in Livadia (Larnaca). The flames also started in the kitchen and caused serious damage to household appliances and equipment, as well as damaging the house's electrical system.

As a result of the second fire, two residents inhaled smoke and were taken to the hospital.

Two fire crews responded to each incident.
