Mobile Desalination Units from the UAE on Their Way to Cyprus

Cyprus’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Constantinos Kombos, has signed a bilateral agreement in Dubai with Sultan Al Shamsi, Assistant Minister for Development and International Organizations of the United Arab Emirates, to facilitate the delivery of mobile desalination units to Cyprus. The equipment is already being loaded and will be shipped out today.

A team of engineers from the UAE, who will operate the units, is expected to arrive in Cyprus next week to assist with the installation and activation process.

Thanks to this agreement, Cyprus will be able to increase its daily production of desalinated water by 15,000 cubic meters—providing vital support amid ongoing water supply challenges.

"The Ministry of Foreign Affairs extends its sincere thanks to the authorities of this friendly nation for their swift response to Cyprus’s request. This cooperation reflects the strong strategic partnership that has developed between our two countries," the Ministry said in a statement.
