“Hygeia” in Limassol: Neonatal ultrasound by a pediatric radiology specialist
Dr. Giorgos Papaderakis performs neonatal ultrasound examinations at the “Hygeia” clinic in Limassol. The specialist received advanced training in pediatric imaging at Alder Hey Children’s Hospital in Liverpool, UK, and has carried out more than 5,000 infant examinations during his career in Greece, England, and Belgium.
The neonatal ultrasound at the clinic includes three studies performed during a single visit: cranial brain ultrasound, hip joint ultrasound, and kidney and urinary tract ultrasound. Cranial ultrasound is used in cases of hypoxic episodes, prematurity, trauma, suspected intracranial pathologies, and for routine screening.
Hip ultrasound is aimed at detecting dysplasia and is usually performed between the 4th and 6th week of life or earlier if risk factors are present. Kidney and urinary tract ultrasound is performed to monitor congenital anomalies and in cases of clinical or laboratory abnormalities, usually within the first month of life.
The clinic provides a comprehensive approach: diagnosis, monitoring, and treatment under the supervision of a team of neonatologists, pediatricians, and pediatric surgeons. The examinations are conducted using the General Electric GE E10 ultrasound imaging system. The procedure is painless and requires no special preparation. To book an appointment, call 25 884650.
