Two people detained in Cyprus for illegal possession of explosives
Two people were detained on suspicion of illegal possession and transportation of explosives during police operations conducted across Cyprus on Good Friday night.
According to the police, intensified patrols were aimed at preventing serious crimes and maintaining public order.
During the checks, police officers stopped 242 vehicles and checked 351 drivers and passengers. Additionally, 28 premises inspections were carried out, resulting in four reports.
As part of road checks, police issued 82 fines for various violations, including 19 cases of speeding. 59 alcohol tests were conducted, five of which were positive, as well as six drug tests that showed positive results.
Furthermore, six vehicles were seized as part of the investigation.
