Yellow Warning Issued for Cyprus on September 23 Due to Heavy Rain and Thunderstorms
According to the Meteorological Department of the Republic of Cyprus, weak low pressure and an unstable air mass are affecting the region on Monday, September 23. This system is expected to gradually move away by tonight.
The first half of the day will be mostly clear, but cloud cover will increase as the day progresses. Localized showers and isolated thunderstorms are expected, particularly in the mountains, inland areas, and southern regions. There is a possibility of hail during thunderstorms. Daytime temperatures are forecast to reach around 30°C in inland areas, 28°C along the coasts, and 21°C in mountainous regions.
By the evening and overnight, cloud cover will increase, especially along the coast, with isolated showers likely.
Temperatures will drop to 19°C in inland areas, 20°C along the coast, and 11°C in the high mountains.
In the coming days, the weather is expected to remain mostly clear, though temporary cloud buildup in the afternoons could lead to isolated showers, particularly in the mountains. Wednesday and Thursday are expected to be mostly sunny.
Over the next three days, temperatures will gradually rise, slightly exceeding the seasonal average.
