Turkish Vice President Supports TRNC After Storm
The Vice President of the Republic of Turkey, Cevdet Yılmaz, addressed the population of the TRNC after the storm that hit the country. The Turkish politician wished a speedy recovery to those affected by the flooding.
"I convey my best wishes to all our brothers who have been affected by the flooding caused by the rain in the regions of Famagusta, İskele, and Kyrenia in the TRNC. We wholeheartedly support our brothers and sisters from the TRNC. May God protect us all from all kinds of disasters," noted the Vice President of Turkey in his address.
It is worth noting that the consequences of heavy rains and stormy winds, which have hit the country in recent days, are being addressed in Northern Cyprus. In Alsancak, a huge advertising billboard collapsed onto cars, six people were rescued from a flooded house in the village of Kayalar, and yachts almost sank at the Kyrenia harbor. Several roads are still closed to traffic.
Today, meteorologists extended the storm warning in the region. It will remain in effect at least until this evening.
