Employees of the Kyrenia Tax Department report pressure and mobbing
Employees of the Kyrenia Tax Department issued a joint statement accusing the institution’s management of systematic pressure, mobbing, and abusive behavior.
The statement says that for a long time employees have been subjected to psychological pressure, humiliating remarks, and threats, which undermines the working atmosphere and negatively affects staff motivation and psycho-emotional well-being.
According to employees and trade unions, the problem has been raised repeatedly; however, the management not only failed to take measures but also intensified the pressure. It is noted that mobbing constitutes a violation of the law.
Among the main demands of the employees are:
- respect for human dignity
- lawful and proper management
- absence of pressure when arranging leave
- inadmissibility of public reprimands
- cessation of psychological violence
The trade unions Vergi-Sen, KTAMS, and Kamu-Sen, speaking on behalf of the employees, called on the authorities to urgently intervene in the situation. Otherwise, they declared readiness to use legal and democratic mechanisms to protect rights.
