In Nicosia, a dog attacked a passerby: an investigation has been launched against the owner

An incident that caused concern among local residents occurred in one of the districts of Nicosia. A stray dog attacked a woman walking down the street. The victim was in severe shock but, fortunately, avoided serious injuries.
According to police data, the animal belongs to a local resident who was walking it without a leash or supervision. As a result of the attack, an administrative case was initiated against the owner for violating the law on dog ownership. He faces a large fine and a possible ban on owning animals in the future.
Police officers reminded that owners are obliged to keep their dogs on a leash and ensure their safety while walking. Violating these rules may result not only in fines but also in criminal liability if the animal’s actions lead to human injuries.
The Nicosia authorities also urged residents to report cases of aggressive dog behavior and other violations of walking rules to prevent similar incidents in the future.
