Memorial ceremony for the first TRNC Prime Minister Mustafa Çağatay to be held in Karaoğlanoğlu
In Northern Cyprus, according to the Chairperson of the National Days Celebration Committee, Asu Muhtaroğlu, a memorial ceremony for Mustafa Çağatay, the first Prime Minister of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, will be held on Friday, April 3, at 10:00 at the Karaoğlanoğlu Cemetery. The event marks the 37th anniversary of his death.
The formal part will begin with officials taking their places. After the laying of wreaths by the President and representatives of the Çağatay family, a minute of silence will be observed, followed by the national anthem, the "İstiklal March." Flags will be flown at half-mast during the ceremony.
Ekrem Ural will deliver a speech on behalf of the family, and President Tufan Erhürman will conclude the ceremony with an address. The organizers provided the main program of the event in their announcement and called for the observance of official protocol.
Residents should take the date and time of the ceremony — April 3, 10:00 — into account when planning visits to the Karaoğlanoğlu Cemetery and participation in the memorial events. The organizers promised to publish additional details through official channels.
