Beha Hüseyin Köprülü Mosque Opened in Gönyeli

The ceremonial opening of the Beha Hüseyin Köprülü Mosque took place in the Gönyeli district, built through the cooperation of the Cyprus Vakıf Administration (Evkaf) and the Gönyeli-Alayköy Municipality, with the support of benefactor Beha Hüseyin Köprülü.
The ceremony was attended by TRNC leadership representatives, including Prime Minister Ünal Üstel, the fifth President Ersin Tatar, Turkey's Ambassador to Nicosia Ali Murat Başçeri, as well as ministers, deputies, representatives of religious and public organizations, and local residents.
The formal program began with a minute of silence and the national anthem, followed by a recitation from the Quran. After the official speeches, a prayer was offered, and the mosque was officially opened for worship.
In his speech, Prime Minister Ünal Üstel noted the contribution of benefactors and emphasized the importance of religious and cultural sites for society. He also expressed hope that the new mosque would become an important spiritual center for the residents of Gönyeli.
