TRNC Athlete Returns Home from Paris Olympics
An athlete from the TRNC, who secured 10th place at the Olympic Games in Paris, has returned home. Buse Savaşkan was welcomed with flowers at Ercan Airport.
The high jumper arrived in Northern Cyprus last evening on a Turkish Airlines flight from Istanbul. In addition to her family, close relatives, friends, and fans, she was greeted by the Director of the Sports Department, Mustafa Sütçü, and the President of the Athletics Federation, Ferhat Sakallı.
Over the past weekend, Buse Savaşkan, competing for the Turkish national team at the Olympics in Paris, placed 10th in the final, clearing a height of 1.86 meters.
Buse Savaşkan's success at the Olympics has already been hailed as a historic event for the TRNC.
