Turkish Cypriot Athlete Breaks 27-Year-Old Turkish Record
Turkish Cypriot athlete Arda Yurtaş has broken a 27-year-old record in the 400-meter race at the Turkish Athletics Championships held in Sivas.
Yurtaş completed the race in just 50.31 seconds, surpassing the previous record of 50.90 seconds, set by Serhan Güneyli in 1998.
Representing the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, Yurtaş's impressive performance was one of the highlights of this year’s national championship.
Following the race, the athlete expressed his heartfelt thanks to his coaches and mentors — Mehmet Şekerli, Ahmet Altan, and Çilem Esenyel Özteknik — for their guidance and support throughout his journey.
