Man detained in Lefkoşa over series of supermarket thefts

In Lefkoşa, a man appeared before the court accused of a series of thefts from a supermarket totaling approximately 36,000 Turkish Liras.
As police officer Alperen Asena reported in court, the suspect, I.B., committed the thefts on May 6, 11, and 12. According to the investigation, he took food items and various goods from the store without paying at the checkout.
A complaint was filed with the police on May 12, after which the suspect was detained the same day. As part of the investigation, law enforcement officers examined CCTV footage, which allegedly captured the man's actions.
During a search of the suspect's home, goods presumably stolen from the store were discovered and seized. They have been included in the case as physical evidence.
Police also reported that the investigation is complete, and the detainee himself admitted his guilt. Following the completion of investigative actions, law enforcement agencies requested bail for his release.
The court is considering the circumstances of the case and the conditions for the possible release of the accused before further judicial procedures begin.
