Last weekend, a police dog named Pamir helped detect drugs in the suitcase of a passenger arriving at Ercan Airport.

According to the police press office, the 27-year-old traveler arrived on a connecting flight from Germany. During customs inspection, the police dog, trained to search for banned substances, reacted to his luggage.

During the inspection of the passenger's two suitcases, officers from the Drug and Smuggling Department discovered a package of tobacco products in one of them, which contained about 100 grams of a substance, believed to be cannabis mixed with tobacco.

As part of the investigation, the suspect tourist was arrested. The following day, he was brought to the Nicosia District Court. The court ordered him to be detained for three days for investigative actions.
