Express Tests for Instant Detection of Drugs and Alcohol Are Being Introduced in Northern Cyprus
A new project is being launched in Northern Cyprus to combat drug and alcohol addiction, as well as to ensure the personal safety of citizens. The charitable organization ZAYDER, together with the technology companies TAGRA Technologies and TAG Savunma, has delivered special new-generation pocket test kits to the TRNC.
These compact devices make it possible to determine the presence of alcohol or narcotic substances in just 3 minutes using saliva, urine, or surface analysis. One of the key features of the kits is the ability to instantly check a drink in a glass for the presence of added prohibited substances, which is intended to protect young people and women in entertainment venues. The project leadership has already requested meetings with the General Directorate of Police, the Anti-Narcotics Department, and the TRNC military authorities. It is planned that these test systems will be actively used in road checks, at customs checkpoints, and during border control.
