Northern Cyprus honors memory of Mustafa Çağatay on 37th anniversary of his death

A memorial rally in honor of the 37th anniversary of Mustafa Çağatay's death was held at his grave in Northern Cyprus. The ceremony took place on April 3 at 10:00 AM at the Karaoğlanoğlu Cemetery and brought together state and public figures.

The commemorative events were attended by President Tufan Erhürman, Speaker of Parliament Ziya Öztürkler, Acting Prime Minister Nazım Çavuşoğlu, President of the Supreme Court Bertan Özerdağ, fifth President Ersin Tatar, Ambassador of the Republic of Turkey to Nicosia Ali Murat Başçeri, Commander of the Turkish Cypriot Peace Forces Corps General Sebahattin Kılınç, Commander of the Security Forces Major General İlker Görgülü, leader of the opposition Republican Turkish Party Sıla Usar İncirli, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Tourism Fikri Aταοğlu, Foreign Minister Tahsin Ertuğruloğlu, Mayor of Girne Murat Şenkul, MPs, military personnel, family members of the deceased, and other officials.

The formal part began with the laying of wreaths, a minute of silence, and the performance of the anthem. President Erhürman noted in his speech that Mustafa Çağatay left a deep mark on political life and was a "hard-working, honest, and humble statesman" whose merits will not be forgotten. Ekrem Ural spoke on behalf of the family, emphasizing Çağatay's virtues and expressing hope to see new generations of politicians with similar qualities.

The event took place in an official, solemn commemorative atmosphere, with the participation of representatives of state institutions and military structures.
