A road worker died under the wheels of a dump truck in Northern Cyprus
An unfortunate incident occurred in Northern Cyprus during the road repairs on the Akdogan-Vadili road. A worker died under the wheels of a dump truck.
According to the police press service, the tragedy occurred today around 10 a.m. Muhammad Zaman, 43, was driving from Akdogan to Vadili on his mini-dump truck and hit 40-year-old worker Sudheva Deepal Warnakulasuriya Mahalekamge Fernando, who was standing on the road at that moment. It is known that both the driver and the deceased worker were employees of the same construction company.
As a result of the dump truck collision, Fernando suffered serious injuries. He was taken to the Famagusta State Hospital. Despite all the efforts of the doctors, it was not possible to save the victim.
The dump truck driver has been arrested.
