Mayor of Girne: municipal services have been working nonstop for 36 hours to eliminate the consequences of the bad weather
Mayor of Girne Murat Şenkul reported that municipal teams have been working continuously on the streets of the city for 36 hours, eliminating the consequences of heavy rain and the storm. According to him, employees are clearing roads from fallen trees, carrying out temporary repairs of damaged sections, and opening storm drains clogged with mud and debris flows coming from the mountains.
Şenkul described the situation as “a disaster, serious by our standards,” and emphasized that all involved services are working “with all their strength, at the limit of their capabilities” to stabilize the situation in the city as quickly as possible and reduce risks for residents.
