Christmas lights were switched on in Tala

On Saturday evening, the center of the Tala community turned into a festive stage: an official ceremony to switch on the Christmas lights took place on a crowded square.
Municipal services decorated the square and surrounding streets with garlands, figures, and light installations, and the highlight of the evening — the lighting of the decorations — took place at the signal of Tala’s mukhtar, Nikos Konikku. In his address, he warmly welcomed residents and guests, wished everyone happy holidays, health, love, and a happy New Year, emphasizing the importance of unity and mutual support during the festive season.
The festive atmosphere was felt everywhere: decorated stalls operated on the square, offering mulled wine, sweets, and traditional snacks. Residents and guests socialized, took photos against the lights, and spent time with their families.
Musical accompaniment was provided by the local school choir: live performances of Christmas songs added special charm to the event and touched both children and adults.
According to participants, the evening was held at a high level and became a warm start to the Christmas events in Tala, once again demonstrating the activity and unity of the local community.
