12-Year Sentence Handed Down in USA for Sexual Exploitation of Minors with Support from Cyprus Police
The Federal Bureau of Investigation in New York, in collaboration with the Cyprus Police Cybercrime Unit, apprehended a 53-year-old man who was subsequently sentenced in the US to 12 years in prison without the possibility of parole.
The investigation began in 2020 following information received by the Cypriot unit. Through joint efforts, authorities identified the suspect living in the US and uncovered several of his victims, aged 13 to 17, across multiple states.
The man was arrested, and on January 29, a US court delivered the sentence.
