Driver damages municipal property in Protaras and flees the scene
In Protaras, a driver has been held accountable for damaging municipal property.
According to the Municipality of Paralimni – Deryneia, on the evening of April 8, 2026, a car driver crashed into steel bollards that were recently installed on sidewalks to improve pedestrian safety and prevent illegal parking. The collision resulted in serious damage.
Following the incident, the driver left the scene of the accident. However, thanks to prompt police action and cooperation with the municipality, the individual was quickly identified and brought to justice.
