Busts of EOKA Heroes Vandalized in Paphos

The Paphos police are currently searching for the vandals who damaged monuments dedicated to the heroes of the EOKA struggle. In the early hours of the morning, unknown individuals sprayed the busts with aerosol paint.

According to the police, the attack took place in Dasudi Municipal Park. The vandals not only defaced the walls surrounding the monuments but also caused significant damage to the engraved busts and the explanatory plaques.

The perpetrators struck in an area not covered by surveillance cameras. However, the police were able to recover empty spray paint cans left at the scene, which could provide valuable evidence for the investigation.

EOKA (Greek: ΕΟΚΑ) was a militant organization of Greek Cypriots formed in the mid-1950s with the aim of expelling the British and uniting Cyprus with Greece.
