In November, electricity bills in Cyprus will be reduced
In the Republic of Cyprus, a significant decrease in the price of electricity is expected in November's utility bills. The bills will be approximately 12% lower.
In an interview with Morning Route, Christina Papadopoulou, a representative of the Electricity Authority of Cyprus (EAC), stated that this reduction in electricity costs became possible due to support measures for the population announced by the government. It is also reported that this subsidy will last for the next four months.
It is also known that the EAC purchased fuel at lower prices due to the decline in oil prices internationally. With the new prices, the cost per kilowatt-hour will be 30 cents instead of 35.
Prices will be reduced for all consumers: households, private companies, and industrial enterprises.
As an example, an average family that consumes about 800 kilowatt-hours per month received a bill of 280 euros in October, while it will be 250 euros for November.
