165 Asylum Applications Filed in Cyprus in November 2025
In November 2025, 165 asylum applications were registered in Cyprus, down from 330 in October. The data was published by the Statistical Office of the European Union (Eurostat).
Across the European Union as a whole, the number of first-time applications decreased by 26% compared to November 2024 — down to 54,825 from 74,495 the previous year. A 12% decrease was also recorded compared to October 2025.
The largest group of applicants in the EU were citizens of Venezuela (8,060 applications), followed by Afghanistan (5,125), Bangladesh (3,585), and Syria (2,365).
The highest number of applications was registered in Italy, Spain, France, and Germany — these four countries account for 76% of all requests.
Additionally, in November 2025, 1,370 unaccompanied minors applied for asylum for the first time in EU countries. The Netherlands, Germany, and Greece received the highest number of such applications.
